Ponte Vecchio

April 2007
The bridge embodies progress of humanity - from carrying soldiers to battle, to open commerce, to a vast gathering of people from all walks of life. Which is why I find this picture more appropriate than what is usually taken from the outside. Florence's only bridge to survive WWII and the 1966 flooding.

Arno river

April 2007
The main river of the Tuscan region, flooded the city regularly in historical times, last being the infamous flooding in 1966. Often see enthusiastic rowers on this stretch... Hmmm...maybe too enthusiastic.
